When setting up the alpha channel for the hud ammo meter how do you determine what value of black and white to give each bullet on the bitmap?
Also what is the alpha multiplier and alpha bias in guerrilla.

It's odd values that I don't quite understand how they work, but they basically tell the Halo Engine how to interpret the gradient you are presenting to it. The bias tends to be for small adjustemnts, is what I find, and the multiplier (or from what I remember) is how big each step in the gradient is.
There are very good tutorials for setting this sort of thing up in YouTube, however it depends what you are planning on doing. Either way, first step - CHECK YOUTUBE.
I have to admit I spent a good 2 hours setting up a gradient for a 100 round weapon, but what's great about having done that is you can then re-use the same gradients over and over again for weapons with smaller magazine sizes. (eg. you set up a HUD interface using a gradient with 20 steps, but now you have a weapon with 12 rounds - just use the lower 12 colours in the gradient but keep the alpha multiplier and alpha bias the same)
If it helps, I found it a little revealing you look at the existing weapons and what multipliers and bias they used. It takes a bit of fiddling to get used to it.
Hope this helps! I am by no means an expert, so if anyone else sees flaws in what I am saying then please step in, but it's what I did and I have had no problems at all since having done what I did. Edited by Diaboy on Feb 23, 2011 at 12:00 AM
