Hey guys, It's me again trying to make a H2V map... So I got 3ds max working, the exporter going, and I went through the Tutorials that they gave with it, but when I try to complie the .ass it gives me a few errors, and then says it's saveing it, but when I go to find the .scenario it's not there! So what do I do? Any suggestions? Here, I uploaded the .ass I was trying to compile, and the .max file also. See what happens when you try to compile it! .ass http://www.mediafire.com/?295wlrj9ixqom4l.max http://www.mediafire.com/?bbmyd8846sicce6Edited by Spar117 on Jan 20, 2011 at 07:46 AM

Well to start with, have you checked the entire "tags" folder for your installation? Second, if you cannot find it in any of the sub-folders in the map editor, then it did not compile correctly. If you can, put up the exact errors or post up a photo link to the command prompt screenshot, and I can better help you from there. Remember, when working on a map, you need to have all the folders in the "data" portion of the editor created before you go saving an .ass file, then go compiling it.
An Example...
My 3dsmax "data" working map directory.. c:\program files\microsoft games\Halo 2 map editor\data\scenarios\multi\wetlands\structure\...
My "tags" working map directory... c:\program files\microsoft games\Halo 2 map editor\tags\scenarios\multi\wetlands\...

Ok, so I check all the tag folders, and couldn't find it... I'm sure that I got all the folder names right to... Here's where I exported my 3ds max .ass to C:\Users\Evan\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Halo 2 Map Editor\data\scenarios\multi\Mylevel\structure Here's a snapshot of all the errors. http://www.mediafire.com/i/?97ndsw9v89zcm75

I must say, that's an interesting layout for installed programs...lol.
Have you tried opening Sapien, then tried looking for it thru the "open file" dialog box? If you have, then the only thing else I can offer for you to do, would be to do a companion file search for the file itself. Perhaps that will yield a result?

It wasent there. Maybe you could upload one of your .ass files that you know works, and I could try to compile that. If it work, then we will know that it's the files problem, not my system!

if compiler doesnt give you any error, then maybe its UAC messing with you. it wont let your H2ek work correctly if you dont run h2ek as administrator.
in that case make sure UAC is of, or run h2ed as administrator.

I am running it as admin... Still nothing. Also, I forgot to mention that I am running Windows 7 64 bit.

No, I've run H2V on:
Vista 32-bit and 64-bit
2008 32-bit and 64-bit
Win7 32-bit and 64-bit
..without issue, so if there was an OS or 64-bit problem it was most likely a driver related problem.
