Those of you who still like to role play, listen up

I've started 2 projects, inertia, and RPG_Islands. Islands is already ingame, and populated. Both of them have planned racetracks and points system for life RP's, as in LIFE RPG V1, which was modded by me, btw.

Now, for the good stuff, pictures:

RPG_Islands:

Aerial View:

Base:

Pie/Pacman Island

Halo Wars base (Not an EXACT replica, but i changed it so i'm not tottaly ripping it off)

City: (Consists of 2 islands)

COQ: (I converted it out of RPG_Open5, and made it a .scenery)

Agony House Model (one out of the 5 models i've made, and 2 are complete)

Airpad:

One of the many, underground places, and my custom structure:

Finally, the naughty place the bad boys are going to be:

This is, only RPG_Island's surface, i havent shown underground yet,

And i just started inertia and that's going well.

Alright, hope you enjoy.

This looks like Opsy's work still.

It's Bland. be better than Opsy and make a less bland environment.

You need to get a theme, and texture things properly. Everything is made out of boxy's. Give places detail, look at existing Halo landing pads.

I'm sick of seeing HUGE maps which box structures.

Put some effort into it.

The modeling in this map is WAY too basic imo.
And the horrible texturing doesn't help.

what is it you dont like, the BSP? or the scenery structures?

i can agree with the scenery, they do kind of look boxy, but im still somewhat a beginner,

and the UVW's are so small, they look really good when your near them.

And this BSP took me 5 DAYS to render in lightmaps! no joke!

the scenery i can fix up easily, but the BSP.... not really.

1. Make the structures all part of the bsp. This helps with lag, and enables you to apply better shaders as well as the ability to place objects directly on them.

2. Improve the models. Add details. If you don't have ideas for detail, at least try using chamfer, inset, or bevel a few times.

3. Fix the texturing. Details can be fine-tuned in the shader under the detail-map and micro-detail-map sections. Make your textures more interesting; a lot of them look monocolor.

These are my suggestions.

EDIT: Also use tool for your lightmaps.

You rally need to work on texturing if you want to make an rpg. Make it smaller so people don't get bored.

I can do some basic texturing work, and I know some people who are really good at texturing, Nick. Tell me if you need any help. ;)
