Actually it is quite possible. You could simply make the OS model invisible and attach a OS scenery item to it. Thru that scenery item you could then in link the animation graph to it. This way you have a spawning OS that only would display the animation and simply dissapear and function as the normal OS.

Hmm, I hadn't thought about attaching the scenery, I was busy trying to figure out how to place a scenery and invisible overshield on the same place and make the scenery disappear once you walk over.
I'll go check if that works, thanks.

Yes, equipment CAN have animation graphs, CAD did it in Zteams Coagulation for the Over shield and Active Camo. Go check the little plasma balls inside and watch them expand and contract.
