The problem is, tool cannot be open by clicking the icon. It must be opened via command prompt.
To set up tool properly:
1) Go to c:\windows\system32 2) Find cmd.exe 3) Copy and paste "cmd.exe" to your Halo Custom Edition folder
To run tool:
1) Open the newly copied cmd.exe 2) Then type "tool" and then your command
Then to build your map you would type:
tool build-cache-file (path to your map) example: tool build-cache-file levels\test\tutorial\tutorial

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo Combat Evolved> That's your problem you put it in your combat evolved folder. It is supposed to go in your custom edition folder.

I lol'd. So hard. But yeah, put it in your Halo Custom Edition folder, because that's the game you are using this for. Same goes for the rest of the HEK.

i think i know what i did wrong there, when i installed Halo CE, it went into the Halo Combat Evolved folder by mistake, because i had created a new folder called Halo Custom Edition and just never changed the install location when the time came to do so.....now i'm starting from scratch yay......
