Hello, I am in a 3D animation class that uses maya. I have been a part of this forum for a long LONG time even though i dont post much xP. I am making a lockout model for my class and i was wondering if any 1 could do me a favor. I need two halo 2 master chief models (red and blue team) that are file types for maya. I have found quite a few models but none have the skeleton rig that i need. (we have not progressed to rigging yet/)
i will give you credit for your model.
Thank You.

Maya format? Good luck. And the red and blue will have to be done in a material editor in the program. Otherwise all you will have are two white spartans.

All the biped rigs here are in .gbxmodel format, which requires 3DS max or GMAX and an additional script to extract. These biped rigs have no fingers. The textures will need to be edited to show up red or blue, and there are no normal maps for the bipeds.

Max rigs (especially for all of the halo rigs) are built using the character studio in 3DS Max. Technically a separate program entirely but incorporated into Max. Maya rigs are built using custom bone structures you have to make and are weighted through vertex weighting. Character studio uses envelops. Not as powerful as Maya but simpler. Therefore any rig built off character studio (i.e. the rigs people have built for the MC) will not open in Maya.
