Okay first of all, i wasn't expecting gmax to install cos i'm running a vista. But after installing gmax when i run it (as admin and as xp) it says this:
Fatal Error
Interactive 3d initialization failed. Please check your device settings by using the -H command line option.

Sure i'll just fork out hundreds of dollars for a programme that has a lesser version for free download that i just have to wait a few days to get working. Good idea!!

Gmax and 3ds max look the exact same. So I gather that 3ds has more tools?

Exactly :P

I'll talk with you later as well if you want Goldkilla.

STOP suggesting pirating 3ds max as a solution to gmax technical errors. I think that should be a rule around here.

I had this problem. Right click on the Gmax shortcut, click properties, and in the target, put a space next to what's there then put "-H" (without quotes). then open gmax, then make sure HEIDI and Software Z Buffer are checked. (If that doesn't work, just try checking different things till it does.) then when you get it working, get rid of the "-H" from the target.

OMG thank you i tried this and got it workimg!!! Thanks dude!!
