I've been working on better spartan-elite perms and animations. It's a long story. LONG STORY: This is a biped tag that lets you play as '2 different' bipeds, in this case a Spartan or Elite. To be used in Halo 3 maps, along with a classic Halo 1 mc and elite, and maybe a H2MC-Arbiter one. At first, I just manipulated the elite to fit the spartan bones, but this had bad collision, animations, rigging, and stuff. So now I've spent the time to make a single biped with two entirely different models, collision, and animations. The way to do this is to somehow make the spartan AND Elite into one animated model... and make one of these models invisible. I've chosen to do this through permutations of a model-- something scripts can control, and allows for other models to be intefrated easily, like recon armor. or assault elites. I'm also doing new halo 3 lowered weapon stances!
Basically the merged animations are almost finished. I'm having trouble making two different permutations or collision.
Is there a way to import collision-geometry? (I've just been taking Halo 1's near-seamless models and using those as collision.) Tool gives me edge errors around my collision biped's joints. Is the skin modifier giving me collision trouble, and if so, how can I fix this?
Thanks. Edited by SlappyThePirate on Dec 7, 2010 at 04:54 PM
