I have this shotgun, and I don't (or should say won't) have it animated to have a shell ejecting from it. Is it possible to have HCE create a bullet for me and have it eject in a random trajectory every time the shotgun pumps?

Yeah you could probably do it in the firing effect, because the pistol ejects shells through the firing effect.

That's exactly how the standard shotgun does it. Go look at its firing effect tag, all it does is create a particle from a marker placed at the ejection point.
