Im new here! And I like to play Halo alot! I really would like to host my own server, but when friends join, it says it cant connect. I read a previous post about this, but I didnt understand how to get the ports open. Can someone please give clear step by step instructions on which ports and how ports can be opened? Thank you

For most home configurations there are 2 places that you need to configure in order to host a server. The first is the Router and the second is the PC's firewall. In the router you need to forward the ports from the outside to the internal IP address if the inside computer that will host the game. Then on the PC you are running the dedicated server you need to open the ports in the windows firewall or the Internet security firewall/program you have on the PC. I started a server and no one can join the game http://hce.halomaps.org/index.cfm?nid=237
