I was wondering, it may not work...
I wanted to implement Call of Duty-esque airstrikes as pickuppable equipment. I was thinking that one of two options: 1) Make a flying biped that flies like a fighter jet more than a sentinel. 2)When the airstrike is activated, an AI is created and loaded in a vehicle. The player then possesses the biped either as a pilot or a side gunner.
I was just wondering if it works.

It was only meant for single player. What aircraft should I use? I was thinking a pelican like the one in Coldsnap, but with rockets also on the turret, or if theres a good .OBJ importer out there, a helicopter or AC130.

For AC-130 type thing use a frigate.
For the Bomber, use a longsword.
For an attack run type thing, use a pelican with rockets.

If I ever get it working, it would make all firefight maps INTENSE!!! And somwhere on youtube, I found a video of someone who made an airstrike weapon. It was a sniper rifle, but when fired, a red laser beamed down from the sky where it was aimed, a beeping sound (like the lock-on for a rocket launcher) is heard, and after a few seconds, a rocket comes down from the sky and kills whatever is below it. For coordinated airstrikes, like the stealth bomber, where you set a running course, how would I get that to work? Edited by flyingpenguin117 on Nov 14, 2010 at 03:36 PM

Cool. I have themodel for a computer finished. I imported the model for the C4, made a box the same size, and attached them. I don't have textures or markers implemented. If possible, I would like to have it animated to open when drawn. Quote: --- Original message by: olly12345 For AC-130 type thing use a frigate.
Do you know of a good usable frigate anywhere? It would be awesome to use. I might be able to make one. I would also like to use an F-99, which I might be able to model and might have textures for (taken from X-Plane 9) Edited by flyingpenguin117 on Nov 16, 2010 at 06:57 PM

Let this thing die. I'm (hopefully) getting Modern Warfare 2 for PC for Christmas, and I'll do something like this for that, where it won't take an excessive amount of scripting.
