I'm trying to use CMTs bipeds, but whenever I put them into a map, in order to keep them, I have to drop all other tags. Does anybody else have this problem, and if so, does anybody know how to shrink it?

CMT had a special hek that allowed them to not need to worry about tagspace, so most cmt tags can't be used by the public.

From what i've heard, they aren't, but i'm pretty sure that this "special hek" is just open sauce.

CMT didn't care about file size, and releasing this special tool would make everyone not care about file size. I suggest removing any character permutations you don't need, and try not to reference ANY 'unused' effects or bitmaps.

If this biped is only for pelicans/phantoms that the player cannot actually see said driver, then the biped does not need a model, animation, or collision. This is what's called a "dummy biped" See this video from CAD to see what I mean by "dummy biped": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J6EFQZZ3EkQThe camera in that video is a vehicle, and the biped used to "pilot" the camera is a dummy biped.

This is for my "Black Ops" map. I'm not good with gmax or 3ds max, so I made a different method of dropships. An AI Pilot flies in the pelican and lands in a trigger which enables the command ai_exit_vehicle marine1. To keep it from looking like crap, I wanted some good pilot bipeds. I've moved from CMT tags to a Halo 2 pilot marine, but that doesn't have the animations either. And if it doesn't have animations, how can it enter a vehicle?

Animations are only there so if a biped enters the vehicle, the biped will "look" like he is actually piloting the vehicle. If there is no animation, the biped will just do what's called a "T-Stance" which a model has it's arms straight out, legs straight in.
However I should correct myself, a dummy biped has no model or collision, but if it's purpose is to enter vehicles and what not, an animations file is needed. No actual animations are needed to be made, only the labels need to be inserted in the animations file so the biped can actually enter the vehicle.

But then it looks like the pelican is flying itself. I'm thinking about just using a Spartan biped with the animations pre-loaded.

If your using the regular pelican model (which had no pilot seat modeled in) then it shouldn't matter. Unless your using a custom pelican model that HAS the pilot area modeled in, forget the dummy biped idea.

I'm using the pelican that Tiamat used in Hugeass (which is called an npelican) and I've used both the marine and armored marine tags. Neither could enter the pelican.
