Possible spolier alert!! ------------->

Most of have seen the campagin by now, weather it be leaked gameplay of playing the maps themselves, so i want to ask the opinion of what they though of how bungie set up the reach campagin.


Take for example the level exodus the gameplay near the end of the level with the:
dilouge of the captian of the civilian evacuation ship
the scripted sequence where one crashes into the ocean
brutes attacking civilian like the did in H3

Created a sense of urgency,anger and desperation to within the player then made them feel like a hero when they watched the remaing ships fly away.

Bungie truely excelled in invoking emotions in the player this game as well exmplifing halo's hidden motto of "one person can make a diffrence"

What i really disliked is how they killed off carter,kat and jorge

Jorge: the ever convinent "bomb timer broke have to kill my self to blow it up"
Kat: head shotted? what no shields?
Cater: becomes convinently injured even though he's at the front of the pelican

Not to mention that reach is one of the biggest cannon fails but let us all rember that it is bungi that decides what is and what is not cannon, and i my personal opinion one of the worst endings ive ever seen since CC4 and before that God of war 3.

All that aside the gameplay was great with a good coheriant story line, what do you think?

You know, Bungie has this cool little thing on their own website called " forums "

I like Halo Combat Evolved Story line. I love how you play as Master Chief and 20 times the strength of a normal human and are able to take on the Covenant by your self. and the Weapons are perfect there all equal. Oh you were talking about Reach. we already got a thread for that.

any ways i miss when we talked about CE, Reach is getting old and it just came out, thats how sad it is.

Well I think the glassing beam emitted a small EMP which is why Kat's shields here down, or they could've been knocked out from all the fighting. Kind of like how chiefs shields were gone.

Actully what i was wanted to do was discuss bungies ablity to create emotion within a player and how to bring that to CE.

I mean you could design and sp map that had good tags, a single coheriant hud, great encounters and fun gameplay and you'd have a really good map, but if you as a map maker were able to invoke someting in your player, to get in touch with their psyen you will have an amazing sp map, that i what i belive.

So how is Jorge's death confirmed? From what I've heard he teleported to some far place with a chunk of ship.
The campaign could have been better if SOME of the team survived. Excluding Jun who goes to escort Halsey but is never seen or mentioned again when she next appears. At least one between Carter and Kat should have survived.

And Keyes is alarmingly different.

Lots of plastic surgery will do that to you.

All of the canon inconsistencies are explained in Halsey's Journal so canon isn't exactly broken. Other than Jun going back to castle base with Halsey, but Jun may be included in the new version of First Strike that is supposed to come out.

Either that. Or he died defending her.
