I thought I'd share an idea I have about a map. It's going to be HUGE if it's made (or vast rather). Not as big as Coldsnap, but big enough to where you will need Air Vehicles to play it properly.

BLACK: Bases. These bases host each team's spawn points, defensive weapons, offensive weapons, and Air Vehicles (like the Banshee and UNSC air vehicles).

Middle Black: Hosts Spartan Laser and other weapons. Can be considered a power base if controlled by a team.

AQUAMARINE: Fog. And lots of it. The Fog will serve as the Fog of War where you can't see what goes on at the enemy's base until you're out of it. I think it will probably be a LOT MORE PATCHY when/if the map is finally made. More or less, I want them to be kind of like clouds.

So for a basic concept, how does it sound? There aren't many Air Battle levels that are centered on gameplay specifically for objectives (Coldsnap is too big IMO to be counted as so). The weapons will be the standard. Nothing crazy like a Super Sniper or Nuke Launcher.

There hasn't been very decent air battle maps. You mind telling us you're going to do to make it better than those other maps?

Well , balance issues have always been a major concern when it comes to air battle maps.

Well obviously neither side will start with Splazers, i can guaranteed that much. Here's a weapon list at each base (does not count middle one):
-3 Assault Rifles
-3 Marksman Rifles (BR or DMR or SABR or whatever)
-2 Plasma Rifles
-2 Spikers
-2 Shotguns
-2 Grenade Launchers (premiere map maybe?)
-1 Rocket Launcher
-1 Sniper

Here's a vehicle list per base:
2 Banshees
1 Human Air Vehicle (transport)
1-2 Turrets (varied, no guass)

You can also walk a chain to the Middle Base, which is more or less suspended by four cables connected from both bases (idgaf about physics). Here you'll find on Splazer and several turrets.

If the main focus of this this map is air to air bases combat then i belive you are going to need more vehicles than the amount you listed, i would suggest adding some:

1 or 2 sparrowhaks to fill the power vehicle
mabye use this as an excuse to showcase that modefied cmt sparrowhawk you talked about a while back?

A few hornets for the transport role but remove their missle capacity so it dosen't feel like another hornet?

and on the subject of turrents mabye you could add the spv2 needle turrent as an aa weapon like in halo wars?

Can atmospheric fog be limited to regions? (portal clusters?) if so, then your fog idea may work. I had believed that planar fog could be in several portals/clusters, but not atmospheric fog.

How about increasing the activation radius of a navigation point/waypoint? I have done some sky races - and this is by far the biggest complaint: maneuvering fast, and activating the nav is sometimes very difficult, or requires multiple passes.

If you don't make a decent race, you will be hexed

Race wasn't an intended gametype, but considering this is a concept I think I can make some adjustments.lol.
