I have interest in making a project for BF2(Battlefield 2 for pc). I have some models(guns) I made but they need textured and animated. But it's like I said in my Texture thread, I don't know if I want to do this with the risk of getting in big trouble by M$ and/or Bungie. Not even sure If it will be made public, because I want to make progress first.

I sincerely doubt that you will get in trouble with M$. As long as you're not distributing that content for money, there is no reason for MS or Bungie to get you in trouble.

I do agree with you but there was mod similar to my idea and the people that made it got in trouble. But if I'm a 100% sure nothing bad will happen, then I will be looking for help for the mod.

They must have been doing something illegal with that content, such as selling the modded content for profit, which in most cases is unacceptable. They could have also been modifying a game where modding is not acceptable, and therefore can get in trouble.
Regardless, if BF2 allows you to modify and distribute your content, you can do whatever the hell you want, as long as you comply with the conditions described in the EULA of BF2 or BF2's Modding Kit.
If you use content from Microsoft's games, they are not able to file any charges for copyright as long as you do not make profit out of your content. M$ is perfectly aware of copyright terms, so therefore they wouldn't even think of trying to get you in trouble.
Long story short, you're pretty damn safe. If you need more verification, go around on the internet and learn about things like this from a more reliable source. This is probably as close to a lawyer as I'm going to get anytime soon.
Either way, if Skidrow doesn't need an animator with his project, I can go ahead and try and animate the weapons for you.

I was actually referring to Homefront.
Go ahead and say Microsoft. M$ saves the typing.
Anyways I guess since it's safe does anyone want to help?
This project requires that you have Battlefield 2 for pc. Edited by Sergeant 1337 on Aug 31, 2010 at 10:00 PM
