I try to update Halo (I currently have BUILD: 01.00.00.0609) So I download: http://hce.halomaps.org/index.cfm?fid=4987, Run it as Administrator and it says "Halo is not Installed on your Computer. This patch requires Halo to run." When I have Halo CE (Custom Edition), Whats Up with it?

How do you do that?

The "in-game updater" is a updater that will automatically update your halo before you can play online...

Well I can play online so does that mean that its updated, It says it needs a "Manual" Update doing, and ive downloaded the update from this website and it says that it isnt on this computer?

It should automatically update to the latest version of halo... but may i ask you something?

Are you, by any chance, using a pirated copy of halo? or no? since the patch/updater will not work for it...

I am using a pirated version at the moment, i am currently downloading the Halo Custom Edition from this website which I understand I will have to use my Halo Combat Evolved Key On, Will I be able to update the Halo Custom Edition from this website?

Currently, you can't update halo as you are using the pirated copy... in which the game will only update itself or manually if you have a legit version of halo with a working key (that no one has used before)...

I do have a working key scince I bought the "Halo Combat Evolved" Game AGES ago, ive installed the game and Im just about to update it all and see if it works!

If you have a working key, there's no need for pirating. Just download Halo Custom Edition from this site, install, and then patch to 1.09

ive installed the one from this site and it works! but my friend has the pirated one which I had before and he cant join/find my server? Whats wrong, do i need to downgrade it to his version for us to play?

In order to install the Halo CE (Custom Edition) game you MUST own a copy of the Halo PC Retail version of the game and have the CD Product Key number which is printed on the yellow sticker labeled "Product Key". If you do not have the correct Halo PC CD Key you will not be able to install or run the game. Installing the Halo CE game will not affect or change your Halo PC Game they can both run on the same computer.

If you wish to join a server running a custom map you must have the map that the server is running already installed.
