Downloading error tried to download:

http://hce.halomaps.org/index.cfm?fid=1938 - the I get an alert, error message:

Cannot open data connection

Status bar shows attempt to connect to dl3.halomaps.org

i find it funny that all of the sudden people are having downloading errors :P

You haven't been here long enough. This is a constant issue, which is why there is a KB article on it. The internet security programs people install coupled with their lack of knowledge of standard protocols like FTP is the root of the problem.

Too bad the error message doesn't say that, or add something sarcastic such as "DUUUUUH - port 21 is not available, DEE DEE DEE" - since that seems to be the message.

yes, I just closed that and many other ports. Will access from a machine I care less about. Thanks.

Port 21 is a safe port to open. No other program utilizes that port precisely because it is reserved for FTP as a standard port.
