there really no limit... but you can only have so much tag space.. just keep it balanced

If you have let's say, an assault rifle. You can add that same specific assault rifle as many times as you wish (i think the rendering limit is 200+) but if you want to add many different weapons, you will find yourself being subdued by tool and it's tagspace limit.

a map cant be any bigger than what, 120 MB? 160 MB? otherwise tool wont compile it. so the more different kinds of weapons you have, the closer it gets to the maximum map size limit

B40 was 349 MB. Let me explain. Tagspsace is, like we said, the amount of tags that you can put into a map. But there are some things you might want to remember. These are, however, in my own experience. 1. When you put in, say, a Wraith, and place say, 5, those 5 don't contribute much to tagspace. They just make the .scenario file a little larger. This is because you are just placing more instances of one tag. 2. When you add the same tag twice, because with my PC it has a delay when you click the "add' button and when it actually appears on the list, and you click it a second time because it isn't there yet, that, from my knowledge, adds up to tagspace. Regardless of what the tag is, even if they're exactly the same, it will count as two separate tags. Though, if they're in the same directory, and have the same name, that's different. 3. Save it up, don't put one Scarab that you want to rampage through the city with its main gun, and put in another Scarab tag that would fire at you with its secondary gun. Just make the Scarab's weapon have a primary and secondary trigger and projectile. This is obvious enough.

so does vehicles count as the tagspace? and if so what else counts as tagspace?

everything counts as tagspace. every file that makes the map has some size, so it counts as tagspace. some arent very big, some are huge.

so lets say i wanted to put 42 different kind of weapons/vehicles tags into bloodgulch. out of the 42 tags only 28 tags are weapon and rest, 14, are vehicles. will this work or is it too many tags?

ok i been doing some thinking and some research so now their have been some changes to the tags i want to put into my map im going to make, their are a tottal of 78 tags which for now is not final... might change depending on how halo community is willing to let me use their tags or how halo reach gonna turn out and the halo reach stuff people are trying to recreate for CE gonna turn out.
also i know some of the tags i listed have not been created yet or has been created but not released yet... i would be asking the halo community if i can borrow their tags or if they could create it for me, and those who would help would be given their credits
all these tags will be placed into bloodgulch... but blood gulch would be a bit larger and two extra bases would be included behind the orginal bases and maybe a bridge like narrows would be added and some water. and if i change my mind the map would notbe on be on blood gulch
first off here are a list of weapons i am going to try to get into the game, their are a tottal 39 tags for weapons: H1 Assault rifle, H3 assault rifle, and maybe Halo Reach Assault Rifle H1 Pistol, H3 Pistol, H3ODST silent Pistol, and maybe Halo Reach Assault Rifle H3 sniper, and maybe Halo Reach sniper H1 shotgun, H3 shotgun, and Halo Reach Shotgun (shotgun might turn out to be only H3 and halo reach shotguns) H3 plasma rifle H3 brute plasma rifle H1 needler, H3 needler H1 Rocket launcher, H2 Rocket launcher, H3 Rocket launcher, Halo Reach Rocket launcher H1 Fuel rod, H3 fuel rod H1 flame thrower, H2 flame thrower, H3 flame thrower H2 battle rifle, H3 battle rifle, Halo reach battle rifle H3 SMG H3 ODST silent pistol H3 plasma pistol H3 spartan laser H3 energy sword H3 carbine H3 gravity hammer H3 brute shot (spiker) H3 brute grenade launcher H3 mauler H3 sentinel beam
second is the vehicles which has a tottal number of tag of 16: H1 Rocket Warthog (destroyable), and maybe halo reach rocket warthog H3 chain gun warthog H3 Gauss warthog H3 elephant H3 hornet H1 scorpion, H3 scorpion H3 mongoose H3 banshee H3 ghost H1 wraith, H3 wraith H3 Anti air wraith H3 brute chopper H3 brute prowler
third is gernades their is a tottal of 5 different gernades tags, but i dont know if u can hold up more than 2 kinds of gernades might change depending on how many different kind of gernades you can hold: H3 frag grenade H3 plasma grenade H3 spike grenade H3 incendiary grenade H3 trip mine
next are the stationary turrets their are about 6 different kind of tags for the turrets, which might change depending if i can find someone who can make it detachable for me: H1 Shade, H2 shade, H3 shade H2 machine gun turret, H3 machine gun turret H3 missile pod
and then their are 5 equipment tags: H3 bubble shield H3 deployable shield H3 portable grav lift H3 power drain H3 regenerator

I HIGHLY DOUBT THIS WILL WORK WITHOUT USING TOOL PRO, other impossibilities aside, such as decent armor abilities and getting your hands on Reach weapons...
or if you optimized every bitmap to 128x128 or something.
