Most of those maps were betas Dennis. I don't know who uploaded them or what but they are not ready. I've been working on refining the new weapons for about a year now and I was getting very close to perfection.

I know your stance on removing maps but I did not upload these, you know the maps I uploaded. You say I only have myself to blame when this happens but that is why they're listed as betas and my final maps are listed as released.

The real issue is that we host these on the MonstrMoose custom servers (or plan to), if everyone has old versions then they are less interested in downloading a new version thus limiting the already small user-base. I will be finishing most of these very soon, I know its a hassle but if you could take em down that would help me and the H2V community.

I do know your maps. When they were uploaded I checked your website to verify that they were indeed your maps and they were and are still publicly available for download from there. Not only that but some were running on servers in the Live server browser list that could be downloaded through the live system.

If you didn't want a map made public then you should not have posted it on a public website nor given it to people to run on their servers. I am continually astounded at how people can't understand that once you publish it it is no longer under your control. And then they complain to me for offering a distribution service, at considerable expense I might add, to do EXACTY what they did in the first place: Make it available for download.

I'm a MM admin, I use their servers for distribution and testing. I explained to you exactly what maps were final. You can even recognize the format between my released and beta maps.

Your own site rules: The map must include a readme, my betas do not include readmes because they are not compressed because they will be replaced with the newest test. You have violated your own rules and yet you blame me. No readme, take em down please. Why the exception?

Your own site rules: The map must be compressed Why the exception?

Your own site rules: The readme must contain the email and name of the creator Why the exception? Thanks for posting my real name also, I don't know why you did that. Not that I really care, I just don't see why.

On the MM host I specially asked down-loaders (of the betas) not to upload them here as they were not ready. Until this point only one person did not do as I requested because people like playing the finished product. Not an empty BSP.

I have no choice but to test my maps in the wild, I have terrible upload. I need to test online for a variety of reasons, as I said, these weapons have taken a year of testing and so forth. There are settings that cannot be tested unless you are on Live with another player. I want the maps public but I did not ask for them to be uploaded here. I understand your position but this is going to hurt the H2V community.

And don't get me wrong Dennis, I appreciate what you do here. I'm not trying to be rude or ignorant, but this is very discouraging.

You will note that whomever uploaded them included a readme.txt files with every map.

Let me repeat myself:

I am continually astounded at how people can't understand that once you publish it it is no longer under your control. And then they complain to me for offering a distribution service, at considerable expense I might add, to do EXACTY what they did in the first place: Make it available for download.

Did they provide my real name and email as you ask for and as I have done previously? No, because they were not me. Dennis, you are not acknowledging that this violates your own rules.

Why would you post these maps if they do not meet your specifications?

If you are not going to remove them please append (beta) to all recent uploads (credited to me) besides Desolation and its Devolved version.

Enough. Don't blame me for your indiscretion. If you don't want maps put into the public then don't publish them. Hell you put them on your own website for anyone to download. If you want something private then you can't give it away. This is exactly the childishness that caused me to make the policy in the first place. The matter is closed.
