What about the ghost, rocket warthog, chaingun warthog, scorpion, banshee, ghost, and turret tells the game that it is one of those things? I'm interested in controlling the population of custom vehicles for my map via the gametype creation menu.

That is, if I want to spawn a banshee and a wasp, I choose in the gametype menu to spawn a maximum for one team 2 banshees (it would consider a wasp a banshee). What do I need to do for that to work? Thanks in advance!

So it isn't because one of the vehicle's tags has a checkbox labeling it as a certain type of vehicle? Or something similar to that?

You control this when you populate the map in sapian. Whenever you place a vehicle in sapian, you must number it 0 or 1 to identify which team it belongs to, and then in the same area you check boxes for existing gametypes in your map. So if you have CTF, KOTH, Race, and Odball in your map, and you only want the shee and wasp to spawn in Odball games, then whenever you place a shee or wasp, you check only the box labeled Oddball. This tells the game to spawn those vehicles during Oddball games and Oddball games only. I think that's what you were wondering, but if not, let me know.

Also can u put the same kind of vehicles in a map like a halo one bansee then a halo 2 banshee then another halo 3 banshee?

The vehicles are recognized by the globals (vehicles.) Go to the globals tag, and on the vehicles tab, it will show you a list of 6 vehicles. Say for example the first is the "mp_warthog."
If you want a custom vehicle to replace the warthog, you change the FIRST tab (or tab where the vehicle you're replacing is) and select yours. When you set "warthog" in the game types, it will spawn that custom vehicle which replaced it.

This is the tutorial I read for scripting in more vehicles without editing the globals tag. Keep in mind that any vehicle scripted in will always spawn in every gametype, unless you check specific boxes (as per my post above). As such, the amount of these vehicles cannot be controlled when making a custom gametype (so if you make your own CTF game, and set the Warthog count to 2 per team, this will not affect any of the scripted vehicles unless you changed that in the globals tag, as per the post above). I haven't actually tried this myself, as I haven't finished the map I need this for, but let me know how it works.
