...and I need some serious help with the city section.

**The map will be a Multiplayer map, not Single**

If anyone's willing to help out in making the buildings so they can be traversed, walked through, and interacted with, it'd be a major help. I've already got the drop pod hangar bays connected to the ship, but now all I need is:

  • The buildings

  • HEV Pods (preferably the ones from Sanctuary_final, or ones that have windows on the front, so you can see where you're falling, like in the ODST game itself)

  • The files in .3DS format or .gmax (I'm afraid I only have Gmax 1.4. I'm a poor map maker :C)

  • Somebody to help export the map into a .jms file (every time I try, my PC freezes on me)

  • Shoot, I'll probably need beta testers too, if the map gets that far


I'm pretty sure the rest I can handle.

I'm also going to use the new ODST biped for added similarity. ( http://hce.halomaps.org/index.cfm?fid=5178 )

I know it seems like I'm asking for everyone to work on the map, but this is one map I don't want to see crash and burn, then eventually be thrown into my archives somewhere and forgotten.

Again, if anyone is willing to help in the production of this map, I would be greatly appreciative.

1.) Can you explain exactly the setting? What kind of buildings? Is it in a City?

2.) I'd ask the maker of Sancuary_Final for the HEV Pods he used. You'll find the thread in the forums somewhere.

3.) I'd just have the person keep the files and then export when it's all done. What I mean is that you can populate and stuff, while someone else or a couple of other people texture/model the map.

4.) THIS IS IMPORTANT. Remember to give credit completely to everyone involved and the creators of the all of the tags you are using. Failure to do so will result in extreme loss of respect, which unless you can do this entire project by yourself, will force it into the butcher shop to never see the light of day again.

It's in a city like New Mombasa, except the buildings don't have to be exactly like the ones in the game. They can be regular rectangular buildings with floors that you can walk around on. They should mostly be skyscraper-sized, but not all levels have to be traversal. Setting? It's kinda like a roleplaying map, I guess. A bunch of ODSTs dropping into a large city around night-time.

I did. The pods belong to someone else, so I'm waiting for a response from them.

I understand completely. I never go without giving credit to anybody on anything I make. *Full credit will be received when helping in production of this map, no matter how minuscule the assistance is.*

I will also be helping in the production of these buildings, since I don't want to be lazy. Plus, it's fun! (And kinda easy.)

I'll need roughly 30 or 40 buildings that can be entered and walked through. I'd also like a few to have multiple levels to walk around on, but if that's too much to ask for, I can do those myself.

So far, I've got the basic buildings that can't be entered made. I'm also working on an office building with maybe 10 levels, if not more.
