I know there's a tut on the site somewhere, but I think there is a main issue with how my command list is carried out, instead of not knowing how to do it. Here's basically what is happening:

set radius: 20 world units

vehicle: warthog nearby

*Everything is good here, now next is the issue:

Pause: 1 second

Then go to a lot of points.

^The now biped in the driver's seat is not going to the points. It doesn't even start. I type in the following commands and have restarted Sapien multiple time:

ai_attach driverman (unit name) weliketodrive (encounter name)

ai_command_list_by_unit driverman letsdrive (command list)

However, like implied earlier, my unit only carries out the vehicle part where he enters the warthog. Could anyone with experience on Command Lists tell me how to do this correctly? Could it be the world units I'm setting for the radius? I have 26 points and they are all fairly close together. What do I need to do to get this to work?

I can never get the "go to point" command to work. I think it's because the pathfinding sucks. I just use "move in direction," specificy the angle of direction and distince, and if nothing gets in the way, it works fine.

I tried it, but it did not work. However, i did not modify the Angle and I set the Distance to 10. I have the modifiers set as either facing forward or most convenient.

I'll try messing with the Angle some more. If I am successful I parade about it in the thread.

Make the command list just driving, and ensure that the vehicle is properly set up. Then, instead of telling the AI to enter the vehicle through a command list, use the ai_go_to_vehicle command.

It's still not working. I have used "ai_go_to_vehicle command" yet it's still unsuccessful for the command list. The Biped itself can still carry out the command list without the vehicle, but sadly even that is absolutely horrid. Does anyone know where I might find that old tutorial someone posted way back when? I could have sworn I had it under my links....

Uhh..

Just add the command list and let him play it from spawn? Or just use the ai_migrate if the ai is already spawned before?

also i think you have to edit the warthogs tags to let the marines drive it. not sure though.

The warthog tags ARE edited, but I don't know if they're edited correctly. You are right with the editing and I think that's the main issue right now because ai_command_list_status responds with a 3 (the command list is running by the unit) and the ai drive does seem to try to move by turning the wheels.

You said your ai carry out the command if the vehicle is not there, that is a clear sign that your vehicle itself is the issue.

In other words if you dont spawn the vehicle and the ai goes to all the points then you know where the problem is.

Yeah, the warthog is easily an issue. The Spectre and Ghost work perfectly fine, though. I'm either going to work on the warthog until it's perfect or find someone who has already done it. If all ends well, I'm hoping I can release it to the site since it would open more possibilities.

Thank you Gamma, I'm assuming you got my message then. I'll test this and see how well it goes.
