I found this (a little) hidden status page of the download server of halomaps.org. It's nothing usefull or forbidden to look at it's just fun to see what is being downloaded on halomaps.org. For those who take a look: have fun :P . It's not that interesting really :P. http://download.halomaps.org/

ok as i love how ppl dont relize how this works i did the math(might be a tad off)
avg loest band width usage: 500 kilobytes per second avg highest band width usage: 4000 kilobytes per second(about 4mb)
in 1 hour of the day:
lowest band width usage: 1.8gb per hour highest band width usage: 14gb per hour
avg days usage: roughly 75-125 gb per day of bandwidth.
thats with 1 file at a time, imagine 2 or 3? just double or triple the numbers. its expensive. right dennis?
now i might be WAAAAAY off, can dennis back me up on this? or someone? Edited by Geared on May 13, 2010 at 05:40 PM

There are two Servers to share the load. Quote: --- Original message by: abkarch hmm. seeing that halo CE is almost dead, and that a small amount of people are downloading as it is, can dennis change the limit to two files at a time i wonder? Actually more people are downloading now than this time last year which was larger than the previous year. The servers are running into the limit of the available bandwidth as it is. If I allow multiple downloads per user the limits would be reached and you would have to share the same amount of bandwidth making each download slower. If you look at the graphs you will see them flat lining which is the limit of the bandwidth. If I didn't have the one at a time limit at peak times it would be slower to download two or more simultaneous than one at a time. I don't have this setup just to be capricious it is there because it is better for the users even thought they can’t always grasp it. Edited by Dennis on May 13, 2010 at 08:56 PM
