If I were to buy a used halo would the product key work? If not I can always spend the 3 dollars extra to buy a new one...

Well, first, you're going to need transportation. I recommend a Marathon-class Cruiser to get you there. However, I can't guarantee you won't get attacked by the Covenant on the way there, then be forced to crash land on the planet. Also, don't do any unauthorized digging. There's a few bugs left, and they aren't too friendly. Other than that, I think a used Halo would be a great investment for the future!
