can someone post a link to a tut on how to make a blanket of fog exactly like in gyrophobia.

in max:

make a plane in max with only 2 tris
place it at the depth you want with normals facing away from the fog
all 4 verts (and outside edges) must be outside the bsp
name it fog$, link to frame
give it the material +unused$ (just apply diffuse, not an actual texture)
export bsp and run through tool as usual

copy gephyrophobia.fog into your mapname's folder
rename it mapname.fog

in Sapien:

open cluster properties> palettes> select Fog
give it a name, click the ... and navigate to your mapname.fog tag, open
enter 1 into the scale
select new instance
select cluster properties > fog
choose your fog from the dropdown
move camera to the area you want fog in, hit [space]
fog plane should turn green, if not open Tools window change transparency settings, repeat.
File > save bsp, collapse cluster properties, File >save scenario
done!

Don't bother making a copy of the fog tag. Just use it where it is.

I always do this because i inevitably end up modifying the tag.

Better that step than ruining the stock tag.

well, there's a plane wth some opaque smoky texture... but no volumetric fog... looks the same ingame (except for green plane). any suggestions?

Save then reload Sapien. $20 says the fog shows up.

although it should show up in-game after you compile the cache
