So anyway, i've decided to start with modeling a map. A simple, basic map. And i'd like to know exactly where the best tutorials for constructing your everyday aesthetically pleasing map is. Theres got to be something to it i don't know about.

I'm familiar with the most basic rules, like it has to be a closed object. But i know i'll be needing help with this. Whos prepared to hold a [s]hand[/s] armoured gauntlet?

Use the official HEK tutorial at http://hce.halomaps.org/hek/. If you are using gmax, go to http://hce.halomaps.org/index.cfm?fid=1668 and http://hce.halomaps.org/index.cfm?fid=1974 and usethose tutorials, they are really good for beginners, even if you don't know how to use gmax.

Not using Gmax. I'm actually pretty sure my method is untested, so once i get something together, its worth the shot.

That's good that you are trying something new. What is the method you are using?
