Well, I was animating, and since I'm entirely new to this stuff, I have no idea how to solve this problem. I made firing anims, but when I pick up the weapon, they just play over and over again, as if I was firing. I made melee anims, nothing happened.
Oh, and why is it that when I open up my .max file, the assault rifle is always slightly offset from where it should be? I imported it from a GBXmodel in case that's relevant.

Just move it where you want it if it isn't in the right place ._.
And apparently you don't have ready animations yet. The problem is caused by the lack of an idle animation, like Xel said, but the ready animation is also very important ._. Edited by Gamma927 on Jan 16, 2010 at 11:36 AM

Just move it where you want it if it isn't in the right place ._. Edited by Gamma927 on Jan 16, 2010 at 11:36 AM Yeah. That's where I have a problem. You see, I'm not very good at this, and when I encounter a problem, I just reopen it. Then I move the assault rifle to its proper place, and I take note of the coordinates. Now when I get another problem, and I reopen it, and paste the coordinates, they seem insufficient and I have to adjust it even more. It's like the entire stage was moving, without the rifle following suit. I fear this might cause a problem with my animations having different origins, but half of my mind thinks otherwise. And why the hell is the Z-axis locked? Edited by PX173 on Jan 16, 2010 at 06:45 PM
