ok well i have successfully compiled a bsp that composes of 62742 Vertices and 38106 Faces.
Hence I have to use portals for performance issues. So the HEK tutorial only helped me to the part where i assign the materials to the faces. It uses +exactportals for the interior of the tutorial map and uses the +portal on the exterior of the map.

So I thought that seeing that the whole bsp is interior designed. I would only assign the +exactportal to well my portals. But "exactportals" are used so they match the environments around them and the "portals" are used to subdivide the level. So which material should I apply to my bsp?

The tutorial is contradicting meh :(

sorry forgot to request no videos. Since im capped. My brother has made a new record and capped us in 5 days. So I have to wait till 27th. :(

plus all im asking is which material should i put on my scenario?

for the portal if your saying change the color in diffuse and name it +portal

the HEK's explanation works fine with simple ones but just to try and be helpful

create the faces on your level then detach them all and rename them to the same group e.g., "base portals"... link to frame. apply the +exactportal material, use any diffuse you like it doesn't matter.

apply +portal to your terrain portals and detach like before, rename and link.

your bsp should have all your other materials on it.

all of these should be used within one multi/sub. don't use multiple ones like the HEK says. it's stupid.
