A week or two ago i came up with an idea for a CE map. I would try to make it myself, but my computer doesnt like CE (Vista strikes again...) or the map making programs that are associated with it (My own Vista strikes with its own 'disease').

Anyway, my idea was that you play as an Elite alongside two ODST's, The Arbiter (I saw tags for him on this site), a silver/white elite with a sword and a white and red Spartan (Im pretty sure ive seen H2 Spartan tags somewhere and they have two armour colours) on a snowy Deathisland.
You all spawn at a pelican crash site which is located just outside red base at the bottom of the hill that takes you up there.
I think theres like a command thing you can type in to get AI to follow you, so that will be involved. At the bottom of the big, cavernous cave that starts at the beach and takes you up into the centre of the island is a crashed Covie Dropship (Or Phantom, but i dont think theres a scenery tag for that). And at that dropship, Flood AI Spawn. There are more infection forms and carriers that spawn than combats. And somewhere on top of the island (if someone wants to make this, then you can just put the next dropship wherever you want as long as its at the top of the island) there is another crashed dropship, where again, flood ai spawn. Flood AI also spawn at random places around the island, and they roam around it freely. Beside your crashed pelican is a Gauss Hog and a Ghost (H2 plz). There are no other vehicles on the island except for a Banshee beside the Dropship at the top of the island. The Elite Combat forms use either BPR's or Needlers. The Spartan uses a Sniper Rifle (Preferably an H2 or H3 one, but i dont mind).
Arby uses a Carbine or an H2 Plasma Rifle. The Sword Elites sword is useable. The ODST's preferably use BR's but ARs are fine. You start of with a Needler and either an H2 Fuel Rod, an Energy sword or a Plasma Rifle (H2). And i think thats pretty much it. I would be extremely grateful if someone could make this for me.

Vista isn't the problem. I've used Vista on both this computer, and my old computer, and never had problems with H:CE or HEK.

Well, not with me. HEK+ refuses to let me right click or use the tool bar. When i do, my comp frrzes, my cursor dissapears and loads of windows keep opening. Next is Sapien. It never used to work, as it always just went white, froze and closed down. But i did some DEP thing and got it to work (I hope!), so the real problem is again HEK+ and extracting the scenario. Its difficult when you cant right click. So i just recursively extracted the scenario file on its own. Then, it only lets me save it as a .txt file or an All Files file. I just dont know what to do. I think me and HEK+ just arent meant to be...

Do this:

right click the shortcut, properties, compatibility, "disable desktop composition"

Then, once you start up HEK+, drag all the folders to the extraction cue on the right. UNCHECK "Save extracted tags list". Then, click start.

It seems i never got Sapien working, as i opened the scenario file, it opened a few blank boxes. It stole my cursor, then filled the screen. Then i got my cursor back, and then sapien made a short, static noise and closed.

Go to your Halo Custom Edition folder, find a file called "debug.txt". Copy the last paragraph, and paste it here.

try reinstalling HEK.

or this:
EXCEPTION halt in \halopc\haloce\source\cseries\profile.c,#442: parent_timesection->self_msec >= child_timesection->elapsed_msec

SOLUTION: Go into Tasks/Processes and change the affinity for the
program to single CPU.
OR
Right click sapien.exe, select Properties. Then go to compatibility, and set it to run in Windows 98
