recently i've been having this problem with newly compiled maps ingame where the player controls are messed up.
examples:
can't walk and strafe at the same time can't walk/jump while crouched can't crouch jump can't change direction/turn/rotate while jumping can't throw grenades full distance can't throw grenades while moving can't reload throwing grenade also caused forward motion/agh..suicide! parts of hud missing
none of these are consistant nor happen all at once each time but it's usually a combination of at least a few off that list.
i replaced the character with cyborg_mp and tried again and everything's fine. the biped i was using last was that new ODST (onotix's, which worked fine the first couple of compiles), plus/minus tags from others. i'm fine with using the standard biped but i would like to know what tag/s are responsible so i can fix it for future reference.

if the marine animations cause this then... wtf...?
...so just replace it with the cyborg animation graph?

No. It appears that your biped is using marine animations. Take, for example. Onotix's latest ODST uses marine animations. That explains why when you throw a grenade, you step forward. It also explains why you can't crouch jump, and do a lot of other stuff. You can't just replace it with the cyborg animations, because then the nodes won't match.

then it's not a fix i'd be looking for but a different biped altogether. oh well, thanks.

Check "uses player physics" and uncheck "uses limp body physics" in the biped tag.
