does the free version of g max require a user identification code?If not I downloaded the wrong one.

Gmax has always been free. Just register on their site and you'll get the code.

it gave me the code but when I try to enter it it says it's wrong on the first number so it won't let me continue WTF

I fixed it but now I keep getting this error:

Interactive 3D renderer initialization failed.
Please check your device settings by using the -H command line option.

but I tried every compatibility option and it still won't work.

it says: the name 'D:\gmax\gmax.exe-h' specified in the target box is not valid.Make sure the path and file name are correct.

You add it OUTSIDE of the quotations, just like when adding -console to the Halo CE shortcut.

Put a space between the .exe and any command line options.
