Booleans, in the sense of computer science, are variables that either return true or false. I find booleans incredibly useful to work with in single player maps, as you can use it for a variety of purposes. For example, in a30, the end section had multiple areas for you to go through. They used booleans to determine whether you had been through that section or not, and whether you've saved the marines in that area.

On and off, 1 or 0, true or false. These are all the same. A boolean contains two values, both opposites of each other. In scripting, if you set it to 1, that would be equivalent to on, or true. If you set it to false, it's equivalent to off, or 0. Edited by Gamma927 on Oct 8, 2009 at 09:42 PM

Boolean is also referred to as a "Bool" in some languages. It is a true or false value. Also, it may be relevant, the Boolean tool in 3DS Max can be used to cut an indention in a model or add a piece on requiring two objects to be intersecting. Edited by Marka Haiyana on Oct 8, 2009 at 09:42 PM
