Hey folks, so I decided to try my hand at making maps. After weeks of following countless tutorials and seemingly unending trial-and-error, I finally figured out how to model in 3ds max 8, set up and apply materials, export to .jms, compile bitmaps and levels, create shaders/environment tags, run radiosity, populate the map, and build a cache file (phew!).
However, I've hit a dead end: my map isn't showing up in the map list in Halo. I chose "multiplayer" under the "skies" in guerilla, and when I placed my "player starting points" in Sapien, I entered "all games" under "type 0." I even gave them team indexes.
Any ideas? It's probably something stupid I'm completely overlooking, but I'm eager to complete my first map (no, I won't release it, don't get too alarmed)!
Please help?

First make a small map named tut in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo Custom Edition\data\levels\test\tut\tut then Inside of the second folder create two other folders bitmaps and models then put the bitmaps you want in the bitmaps folder, then when you finish making the map put the JMS,and the 3ds Max, or gmax file in the models folder then in 3ds max, or gmax go to File->Export->blitzkrieg Jms,Jmp and overwrite the JMS Then go to Tool or CMD and put in tool bitmaps levels\test\tut\tut\bitmaps and hit enter then go to guerilla and File->Open->to the tut bitmaps folder in tags\levels\test\tut\tut\bitmaps and open them all and put them to compress with explict alpha then go to CMD again and put tool bitmaps levels\test\tut\tut\bitmaps again then put tool structure levels\test\tut\tut tut then go to guerilla and File->Open->tags\levels\test\tut\tut and open the .scenerio then go to sky switch it to multiplayer, click add,and go to tags\sky\clear afternoon and open the .sky and save it then go to CMD and type in tool lightmaps levels\test\tut\tut tut 1 0.000001 then open in sapien and edit when you do player starting points in options put all games for all of them and for team index for red put 1 for blue put 2! then open CMD and type tool build-cache-file levels\test\tut\tut Edited by Recon_Sniper_4 on Oct 16, 2009 at 09:48 PM

At the guy above me: 0 is actually Red, and 1 is Blue. You must've gotten them mixed up there.
At the guy who made this forum: Have you ever thought that your map has a name similar to a map you currently have in your Maps folder? I wanted to make a H2_Relic varient, and it didn't show up on my Multiplayer Map selection. It turns out that if you have a map named, say H2_Relic, and you're making a map named Relic, then Relic will get bumped off the selection screen until you get rid of H2_Relic. This also came true when I was making a varient of my b40-arena map (because the current one has a MAJOR glitch concerning the lift), and I named the remake b40-arena-v2, and guess what? b40-arena got bumped off the selection screen. So see if you have any maps that are similar in name to your mod, otherwise it will not show up on the Map selection screen.

No. That's not true. The only reason why it won't show up is if it's a necessary game file, such as bitmaps.map, ui.map, loc.map, etc, or it's a single player map. Make sure it's set to multiplayer. I have a10mod, a10mod2, a10modv2, and teha10mod all in my maps folder, all at the same time.
