I recently installed an update for my Nvidia driver for my VAIO Vista Laptop, and after it installed, Halo and Halo CE graphics no longer work. All that displays after the intro screen is a blank flashing screen. I tried rolling back the driver to no avail, and made sure the AA was turned off on the Nvidia control panel, rebooted the machine, and it still didn't work. I removed the driver altogether so that it reinstalled, still didn't work.

I finally reinstalled Halo altogether, and was excited to finally see the menu screen once again. After selecting multiplayer, in installed the 1.08 patch, restarted the game, and once again a blank flashing screen! I don't think there must be a solution here. They continually update drivers, and screw peoples smoothly working machines up. Halo now says that it doesn't recognize the graphics driver on a machine that worked fine for a year! I also have tried running with the command extension -safemode, and it will actually display a menu.

PLEASE HELP, OFFER SUGGESTIONS, ETC.

Already done multiple times, then I set the Nvidia control panel to allow for "application to control". I noticed that it only had three Halo related programs listed in the individual application list...Halo, Halo2 and Halo3. When I tried to add an additiona executable Haloce.exe, and hit apply it seemed to accept it, then I would close. When I reopened the control panel, the Haloce I added, sas not listed. I repeated this several times to no avail.

Anyone else have Vista with a Nvidia card on their laptop? It absolutely worked beautifully for quite some time, then I started Halo the other day, and nothing but a blank flashing screen in Halo, Haloce and also in Sapien.

I would think it's AA.

Set to "Use my preference emphasizing: Performace."

See if that fixes it. It works works set like that, then it's AA messing it up.

Does yours allow for a haloce.exe to be added to the list, or does it just need the default halo?
