I'm new, but I have 2 problems with shielding

1.I was making sparks beam in h3, it works fine with considerable damage, but the cyborg and elite shields reflect them, but still take damage
2.How can I change how the shields look when flashing? I know they're random particles flying around the biped though...

1. open the .projectile file of the beam weapon (should be in the "triggers" section, "projectile" subsection), and scroll down to "material responses".
The section should have a drop-down bar, so click it and select "cyborg energy shield". Under "default result", the response should be "disappear", and same goes for "potential result".
This would make the beam disappear on contact with the spartan's energy shielding.
If you want the elite's energy shields to have the same effect, then do ALL the above, except that instead of selecting "cyborg energy shield", select "elite energy shield" instead.

2. I aint sure on this though, i have little experience in this.

2. The shields are in the biped tag near the top in a field called 'modifier shader'. Hit 'Open' on that and you'll open a shader_transparent_plasma tag for the shields.

As for editing that, most of the values are self-explanatory. Basic edits that you can do include changing the color, changing the texture animation, and changing the intensity (brightness) and the offset (how far from the model the shields are).
