Whenever i play halo 2 its always slow...

Here are my computer specs:

Memory - 2048MB
Hard drive - 250GB
Graphcis - nvidia geforce 6150 SE
Processor - AMD Athlon TM 64 X2 Dual-Core Processor 4000+

Its on a Compaq Presario PC running Windows Vista Home Premium.

I'm thinking it has something to do with the graphics.
What do you guys think?

That's the exact same card I have except it's a 6150 nForce 430 w/ updated drivers.

The processers is the same as mine as well except it's a 5600+

So yea, set everything low on your Nvidia control panel for halo 2 and your fine

I used to have the 6150 SE integrated... You'll have to settle for windowed mode on the lowest settings possible, at 17 FPS. Trust me... Get a new GPU soon.

Nah. You dont have to.

just change your settings at the satrtup setup menu and in your Nvidia Menu.

I can run Halo 2 on Medium detail

hey, greenfuzz, your meathod worked! halo 2 is running better than it ever has. 1 prob that i've never encountered before the driver download, whenever i'm outside these patches of really light fog pop up and it makes it really hard to see. any ideas on how to fix this prob?

You need to update it. Your halo 2 update isnt applied. Thats whats causing the "glitchiness" :p

i just updated it...it didnt work.

1. Did you update it through LIVE or from the site?

2. Do you have the latest DirectX 10 installed?

If nothing works, update your drivers

1. i updated through the halo 2 vista site

2. i dont have directx 10

3. i did update drivers that was what i did to get halo 2 running smoothly

Sign into LIVE and update GFW and Halo 2

You sure you dont have DirectX 10? To find out what DirectX version you have, type in "dxdiag" in the Start Search bar after you click on the Start button

if in halo 2 vista, how? and what does gfw stand for

Click on LIVE, then Sign in or Sign Up.

It will then say "A update is available from the game" Would you like to download it?"

Click Yes and Wait. It will exit out of the game when installing.

ive already updated it that way, and turns out that i do have directx 10. and i have downloaded the drivers so what else could i do?

try restarting your computer to see if the changes take effect

if i wanted to go out and buy a new graphics card....what would be the best one?

fixed the blotches of light prob. just had to update windows.

it looks like it is your video card. I would try getting a new one.
