How do I add a charging effect to a weapon?

wouldn't the laser sight just be a second projectile that does no damage and has no effect on inpact with anything?

I believe you can learn how to make a charging effect by looking at the mechanics of a Hunter's Fuel Rod Gun.

If you want to hold to charge, and release to fire, then yes, but if you want a charging effect like a Spartan Laser, Hunter Cannon.
