Hi, i want to use the game console, but have no clue what to do... I entered -console -devmode in the end of Halo CE shortcut, and run, but exception appears. But without -devmode it works. But, how do i use the console?? And should i use AllDev app for getting Devmode? I heard of DevCam, where to get that? And what does it do? And i would like to know how i know i am entering into console..

Make sure you're using Halo CE (Custom Edition) and not Halo PC original with it. Devmode doesn't work with Halo PC. You can use the basic console in both PC and CE though. To access it press ~. (above Tab, to the left of 1) There is a camera as part of Devmode, the instructions for using it are http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/halo/hints.html]here.</a> That would be your best bet for it, if you want a third-person camera that follows the player, you'd need to search for that. edit: as a heads-up, devmode is mainly what developers use to test maps and stuff, note that with it active you CANNOT enter any multiplayer games besides LAN games. This is because a map's stability can be easily compromised if you enter the wrong command. Edited by 0fullmetal0 on Jun 12, 2009 at 03:09 PMEdited by 0fullmetal0 on Jun 12, 2009 at 03:11 PM

I wish people would stop suggesting that -console-devmode thing, because it's confusing for the newbies, as well as inconvenient for everyone, since you have to delete the -devmode every time you want to play multiplayer. Just use this. http://hce.halomaps.org/index.cfm?fid=1099Much easier.

If you want the other apps to work, just do what I did:
Open your maps folder.
Put all of your map files on your desktop or in a temporary folder, so you don't lose them.
Uninstall Halo CE.
Redownload and install Halo CE.
Put your maps back into your maps folder.
Download an alternate UI like the Orange UI that skips the Auto-Update process.
Halo CE will be the original version, all of the apps will work, and you won't ever have to worry about it updating.
Or, you can just use the Halo Version Changer. It doesn't work on my pc, so i had to do that^
