hi. I recently downloaded SteelIXB and E3PO's string list editor (Halo String List Editor V2) as i wanted to edit the seat names of vehicles and weapon names when they are entered or picked up. Also, i want to edit the vehicle's name (that appears in Halo). However, i do not know what to do (like which file to edit etc). Can someone help me, or point me to a tutorial?

E3PO's string list editor doesn't save right, use SteelIXB's one. You would open:
hud_icon_messages

thx for the tip. but how do you edit/add new messages, and how do you make the weapon, vehicle reference them so that they would show up in Halo?

For weapons, you modify hud_item_messages. To add, you click the "add" button, and create a new entry. Make it look like the ones above, EG "Picked up a _____", and "Picked up %d ____ for ____". Then, find the number corresponding to the first message, and in the weapon tag, scroll down a little.



In the circled part, change that number to the number corresponding to the "Picked up a ____" message.
