I'm thinking about making a brute rifle, I wanted it to be bolt action, until I realized since it would shoot spikes it wouldn't need to eject any cartridge, I want to make it side loading to be cool and different now

I think a Brute Sniper would be like a Torque Bow. Brutes aren't high on being snipers as much as being brutal. It'd probably explode when it hits the target.

Brute sniper rifle should be kinda like a spiker that shoots 1 giant spiker round instead of a bunch of small ones like the spiker does. In terms of how the brutes like to be brutal I think thats pretty brutal. I mean were talking about a brute impaling marines with a giant spiker round. There is no brute sniper rifle going into the CMT SPv2 mod as of right now since they aren't adding any new weapons in anymore. Perhaps it would be best to end the discussion on the brutes or jackals having snipers; I don't think you want to play in a mod where you get killed with a 1 or 2 hit weapon. I have a question for CMT. After spv2 is released would it be possible to release a sandbox map with all the weapons, vehicles, and enemies as scenery? I was thinking that would be a really good idea but I just wanted to ask. Also will the flamethrower be included in spv2 or all will all you have is the chain gun? In Halo 2 and Halo 3, your health regenerated over time with the biofoam dispenser in the new Mark armor. If there was a beam/brute sniper [in this mod] and you get hit by say a sniper-type weapon, you'll be scrambling for a health pack almost all the time in huge battles and probably even be sent back to the last checkpoint on higher difficulties. So I'm saying the AI snipers in Halo 2 and Halo 3 fit into the games' campaigns when there was the new health system. Sniper Jackals or Spiker-Sniping Brutes don't really blend in well with Halo: CE's "language". I'm not saying/implying you shouldn't play Halo 2 or Halo 3 [intentionally or in anyway].
By chaingun do you mean the portable machine gun [turret]? I'm guessing that the flamethrower is still in the mod. Edited by Slyr_Bleach on Aug 12, 2009 at 07:57 PM

Edited by THEFEAR on Aug 12, 2009 at 07:49 PM I'm not sure if the flamethrower is in or not but I believe the chaingun was replaced with the portable turret. I don't know if they're keeping it or not though. They had some problems with the turret splattering the player when it was deployed, and there was talk of it being cut.

Edited by Slyr_Bleach on Aug 12, 2009 at 07:57 PM It could have been set up that the niper rifle mirrored the damage of a charged plasma pistol where if there were any it would take those down first, but then of course that would be detrimental when you use it and all hits would take at least two shots... HMM... I guess no covenant snipers is a good idea

Oh, and you're in the wrong thread, I believe. About the Covenant snipers, the Shredder from Halo: Out With a Whimper is pretty nice, for a heavy weapon, that is. Like the Torque Bow, dig in and -BLAM!-. Although it'd be heck hard to avoid those, don't get them in.

They've said several times that for all intents and purposes, the mod is done. All that remains is a few "tweaks."

I'm pretty much content with the Brute shields, since they say "I'm different from spartan and elite shields!". It's fine to make them stationary like that, but please change the color, and make it a little more... blurred and transparent, I'd say. They should have a lesser glow/shine.

Elites and Brutes are both in the Covenant, meaning they would use the same technology for shielding. And the Mark V MJOLNIR armor's energy shields were made using Covenant technology.

Then it wouldn't be much fun since it would only take a few headshots to kill the ones that don't have shields - pretty much like all the brutes in Halo 2 (where you would 3/4sk the brutes with a carbine).
