Mr Mohawk is basically a meta swapper- Came out before gravemind. Anyway, with the 1.5 gravemind beta release, it is ALOT better,l loads much faster, even extracts those bitmaps

Gravemind is. Not really. But still yeah. Mr Mohawk is a swapper, one of the "forerunners" - meta swappers

No.... we were saying that Entity is used to mod halo 2 xbox maps. Use Gravemind/Mr Mohawk to mod Halo 2 vista maps

Xbox map files are exactly the same as the PC. Wrong, if they were the same I would have been able to extract the bsp district with the Halo 2 Bsp Extractor. It's the same with Halo PC and CE.

1. Open the program. 2. Press the "..." button. 3. Select a ripped bsp from Entity. 4. Wait a bit. 5. Receive Bacon.

More than likely, I am the resident expert in the field of all things H2X, so I will explain all this. Basically, everything about Halo 2 Vista is the same as Halo 2 xbox. This of coarse meens that the tag layout, and structure is identical. What is different, and what prevents us from opening H2V stuff with xbox modding apps, is the additional data added to the pc tags, which we refer to as "padding". Becasue this padding is present, it alters the headers, string locals, etc.... and that is why apps like Entity throw a fit when you try to open them.
Bitmap data is exactly the same. The same compression architecture and tag data is written the same. This is the only thing that has not changed. But in a way it has changed, as the index pointers are different, so tag values are not in the same order as they would be if you had both raw bitmaps ripped, looking at them side by side.
In terms of ripping H2V bsp's......why would you need to? I played through the maps District and Needle, and quite frankly, they suck! You can tell a mile away, that some sub-par development firm made them.
But if ripping bsp's from other sp and multi maps is what you need, then yes, you rip xbox map bsp meshes and use those.
And to correct the statement above about needing a bitmap.map file.... that is not even the same Halo game. halo 1 uses a bitmap.map file to store all sp and some mp bitmaps. For Halo 2, it uses all 3 resource maps...mainmenu.map, sp_shared.map and shared.map.
If you have a particular bsp you would like extracted and ported over for use in 3dsmax, then request it, and myself or someone else will be glad to help you with it.
