my dad just mailed me my legal copy of halo combat evolved and i got to install halo custom edition and it says invalid product key how do i install now. because i love the different maps but i cant install custom what do i do.

use the key on the side of the halo pc case. You need a legal copy of that too.

right click halo, select "run as administrator" (i think)

ok so i just tried to load a custom map. my game screen dropped and said gathering exception data. then my game shut down what now

which map was it? It was probably the maps problem, not yours

yeah, when I first got this I downloaded a pack of custom maps that came with it. I'd keep getting exceptions because the map I was trying to run wasn't programmed to support CTF.

For future referance, if you want to explore a new map, always do it in slayer, you hopefully won't get an exception.

could you link me to the packs please... also how do i get single player maps to work. like flood assault and survival types

You need to download alldev from the site and then once you're in game open it by pressing "~" and type in: map_name Then press enter

Remember to put the map's real name instead of and put a space, not a "_" between the map's name and "map_name"

EX:
to run bloodgulch in singleplayer type in
map_name bloodgulch
and tyhen press enter.

I'll see if I can find that pack...

Once you take one it will appear in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo Custom Edition\screenshots
