It seems after restarting my PC in a day, if I run Halo CE, 15-20 minutes it BSoDs on me, telling me that it is with my display card.
I think you all know, but the GFX card is an Nvidia GeForce 5200 FX AGP. Soooo, yeah, any solutions? (I tried Microsoft's but updating my drivers didn't seem to do much, and I reset them once already....)

That's a very low-end card, but keep the settings in Halo as low as they can go. I play with a low-end card myself (ATI Radeon 9250) right now, and play at 800x600 resolution with everything at medium or lower; not only is it smoother gameplay this way, it also prevents memory overloads. That's the only suggestion I have.

I assume from the first post you've updated your drivers, and that it wasn't like this until just recently... Just out of curiosity, what operating system are you running on?

Your card might just be FuBAR. It might have over heated. It might be time to get a new card.

Quote: --- Original message by: l283023 I have that same card, except it's a PCI. I got those errors alot too. But then I got a better processor which has a built-in graphics adapter that takes some of the stress away from my Geforce.
I would either get a better processor, graphics card, or both. This is your best bet. 128 MB video card, especially that low-end of a card, is pretty rough. Without a decent processor, the GPU is really going to suffer some massive strain from running so many threads.

Is there anyway to check if it is overheating without opening up the computer? (If I have to, I will)
So my best option is to get a new processor.... here is my current one, BTW:
Intel Pentium 4 CPU 2.40GHz

Intel Pentium 4 CPU 2.40GHz That's not too bad, but yeah, upgrading processor &or GPU are both good ideas. I need to upgrade both myself; ATI Radeon 9250 (256 MB), and Intel Pentium IV 2.88 (hyper-threading)... I'm upgrading to a 3.2 GHz Pentium IV and ATI Radeon HD 3650, for less than $100 altogether... Your best bet's probably to do the same. And, there is a way to check if it's overheating sort of, but I'm not sure if it'll specifically show the GPU temperature. You can check the CPU Temperature using Yahoo Widgets (there's a widget for it somewhere; my brother had it)... There's possibly one for GPU as well.

Alright thanks. Luckily there was no BSoD yet, but that is because I didn't touch Halo CE....
I'll see what I can find. Any sites that have good prices for processors and GFX cards?

I'll see what I can find. Any sites that have good prices for processors and GFX cards? http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4329699&CatId=2234That's the card I'm getting... TigerDirect, Microcenter, NewEgg... Those are your best bets. I especially like TigerDirect, but that's just because my dad's a subscriber and constantly gets cheap PC parts, especially with rebates. :3 Unfortunately, TigerDirect doesn't list the Pentium IV except for one model: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1645054&CatId=1971But still, $70 for a 3 GHz processor that supports 64-bit, isn't too bad... I wish TD still listed older PC parts. Guess I'm lucky that my family had a 3.2 GHz P-IV laying around. xD Edited by MF Boom on Apr 12, 2009 at 09:13 AM

I have a slight problem. I bought an ATI Radeon x1600 AGP 8X (or something) along with a 400w power supply but because of some wierd reason, I got NO power to my monitor. Is it because of my processor as well? I've heard Nvidia cards have 4X/8X compatibility, but ATI does not.

I've heard Nvidia cards have 4X/8X compatibility, but ATI does not. ATI has support for 4x/8x inter-compatibility. That's just like how PCIe 1.0 and 2.0 are interchangeable. There shouldn't be a problem with it. Check the power supply requirements (minimum watts/volts, I forget which) for that video card. That sometimes causes a problem if the power supply doesn't give the card enough power; especially considering that the video card I listed has a 6-pin power adapter port for extra power. I may need to get a new power supply myself.
