Is your halo official or cracked?

Quote: --- Original message by: Greenfuzz Is your halo official or cracked? Halo CE won't make a difference, because the .map files are all the same regardless of version. All the "crack" is, if you mean the No-CD patch, is just an earlier .exe of the game (v1.01, I believe)... The files are still the same. Reinstalling the game also wouldn't make a difference, unless you're reinstalling Halo CE. If anything, make sure you're opening the maps from Halo CE, not from Halo: Combat Evolved (the PC -- unmoddable -- version). If you're opening the right map files, HEK+ has been reinstalled just to make sure, and it still doesn't work? I say it's a helpless cause. Sorry~

Hope it helps! ^Bad advice. Reset your entire PC just cuz of one application? Not a very sensible idea. Try this: If you're on Vista or 7, set it in XP compatibility mode.

Try this: If you're on Vista or 7, set it in XP compatibility mode. Hadn't thought about compatibility mode. Another idea is to run it as Administrator; sometimes that works too.

Quote: --- Original message by: notaru I think its the type of operating system ur doing it on. This game only works on Windows, be it 98SE, ME, XP, Vista, or 7. I doubt anyone still uses 95, and NT was a flop. And, while I can't vouch for anything earlier than XP, it has no problems with XP, Vista, nor 7. There are differences in how it can be run, but they still run.
