i recently downloaded the crashing lifepod tags and for some reason they dont work properly. for starters it doesnt have a collision model so i had to use the lifepod_entry collision model instead and there was LOADS of stuff that was incorrect so i changed it. now all it does is sit in the sky and does nothing. P.S iv been asking tons of questions lately so ill try 2 shut up the download is here: http://hce.halomaps.org/index.cfm?fid=1626

This is why I took and passed a test to become a beta tester, because I can't mod, hack,or make a map on halo ce, but in halo 3 I can make a good map, but I still can't mod or hack. If I remember right, devices, much like AI, don't sync anyway. And I rarely rely on animated scenery because it tends to be very glitchy in-game.

Are you recording with multiple actors? That can ruin a machinima. If you tell an actor to move as soon as the lifepod hits the ground, it might hit the ground on your screen, but not his, and he won't move. That could ruin a machinima.

no, the lifepod crash is really just for one shot, thats all. and it will be shot on LAN so theres no online worries.

P.S still working on fixin the tags. hmmm Even on LAN, when something doesn't "sync", that means it's not synchronized over the net at all. Animated scenery, just like AI, are run client-side. If someone joins several minutes after your game, even if the animated scenery follows a specific path, it would do it much later on their screen than it did on yours; the time between your starting the game and their joining, is the time delay between the animated scenery's actions. Your best bet, if you do get it to work, is to show that scene without any extra actors; only you for that one scene... Otherwise, it won't work very well.

I think you could use a recorded animation instead of animated scenery. Edited by chrisk123999 on Mar 25, 2009 at 06:00 PM

Import from campaign maps. In sapien, go to File> Import Recorded Animation, and select a30.scenario.

And to make the unit run it, create a script using the command: (recording_play [unit] [recorded animation])
Replace [unit] with the name of the unit, and the same with the recorded animation. NOTE: This is not the entire script. You must have a header as well, and possibly a delay so you can get in position to film it.
