hey

i'm makign a sp map at the moment
and i have a question

is it possible to forche an player into an seat of an vehicle
and keep it in that seat
so that when the players presses e that the player will still be in the seat?

like in the turret of a warthog

Like would you want to spawn him in it and not be able to get out until a certain part of the level?

yeah

like after an cinimatic the player must be seated at the chaingun of an hog and then must be seated until the next cinimatic

Use the vehicle_load_magic command to stuff the player into your vehicle.

Then use the (player_enable_input 0) command to make sure the player can't get out.

But he can't shoot if he's in the gunner seat...

so i cant script it so that the player is maning the turret and can shoot at the same time

I don't know if he can turn. You can turn around in first person, but I don't know if that actually allows you to move.

Well, if you don't disable the input, the player will be able to get out. With the input disabled, he (she) can turn and look, but will not be able to shoot, get out, or change weapons (in the case that said player is not in the gunner seat).

I'm not sure if there's a way around that.

hmm well it is possible to restart from te latest checkpoint once the player is like 5 meters or further away from the hog

so that if the player gets out and the ai keeps driving that it will restart at the latest chekc point

so it forces teh player to stay in the turretseat of the hog otherwise he cant complete the map?
