hi all, hope someone can help with a small problem. i have a map that will not load. I get the message"unable to join server" i know it isn't the fault of the .map file, as i have then replaced it with a new downloaded one, as well as the same map from another source, with no improvement. when i create a LAN game with it I am unable to see the game name in the list of maps that can be selected - although i can see it in the maps folder in the halo ce program directory on c drive. i have a friend who has the same problem with another map. I recently clean installed halo ce again, no change. the only thing i haven't done is delete the "my games" folder where stored games and profiles are stored. The map worked to some time ago, and i simply cant use it now. has anyone heard of this problem?, and even more, fixed it. any help would be appreciated. one map doesn't sound like a problem, but when my clan goes there I have to sit the game out, grrrrrr. the map i had problems with is "seige", my friends is "oblivion", but i don't think they are the fault.

You most likely have another map, probably a modded one, that is similar to the one you can not see. This can happen sometimes. I am not exactly sure why buy it usually happens when people do not rename the scenerio file or use another editing program other than tool to compile the map.

Remove all custom maps from your \maps folder (store them in a holding folder) except the map that you can't see in the map list. See if you can run it in lan. If so then you can then add back, one at a time, the other maps re-starting Halo CE each time until you find the map that prevents you from seeing the map in question.

If you can't see the map with only the standard maps and the one custom one then the map is corrupt.

I've seen this on the original Zanzibar map that came out for CE.

Thanks for that Dennis,

I took out all the maps except for the problem one, in this case "Seige" Halo reported an error and would not start, so i removed and reinstalled program. This however was not the fix, as i have done this before. After reinstalling i added Seige back in and it worked fine. i have 289 maps so i'll have to rethink which ones i put back as it'll take a long time to put them back one at a time to see which one is creating the problem. Thanks again

lmao 289 is a hell of a lot, do like 20 at a time, if u get a problem, do 5 at a time out of those 20, then do 1 by 1 out of the five, or do 100 at a time, then 50, then 25, then 10, then 1. you chooz, ither way its a big job...
