Press f8, and then boot from CD

uh when i press F8 nothing happens and the CD is in. wtf?

Repeatly tap F8

You all are morons, its not F8, its ESC. Then press up or down to select where you want to boot it from. It will show your Hard Drive [or however many you have installed into the motherboard] and your disk drives [however many you have installed into the motherboard]

ive tried holding F8 and tapping it. ill try what ITails said.

If esc doesn't work try tapping F12

no this is serious, not because my halo files are in there, but because it has school work and documents..though that did cheer me up a bit =)

EDIT: F12 doesn't work...this must be really bad virus because nothing is helping..... >=(

Must be. I had this virus ( fake antivirus 2009) many times and it screwed up my computer

EDIT: this is a stupid idea but go into cmd and type in "explorer" and it will show ur desktop. Srry for any spelling errors I'm writing this from my iPod touch

uh how do i get into CMD in the first place? if i cant even see windows startup screen and cant log in how would i open CMD? my screen stays black when i turn it on...no writing or numbers and letters come..no loading sounds just black...

Press CTRL-ALT-DELETE and Click "New Task" and then type "cmd.exe" for the record when your in windows.

From what it sounds like, this has been infecting your PC for a while. Which also means it could have done anything such as damage drivers, delete nessesary boot files, etc. So in the long scheme of things, take it to a PC Repair Shop and get it re-programmed. Your hard drive might be corrupt.

ok ill try wait no...just tried CTRL-ALT-DELETE but still nothing...and yeah i had the virus for a while, around the start of december last year...but whenever i scanned it (which was every minute and they were all fullsystem and quick scans, a mixture) but when ever my scanners finish scanning...they said "Congrats, Your System Is Virus Free" and that was for spybot and trend micro 2009..and they were updated... oh well but if i sent it to be repaired all the guys do is reboot my computers and thats it..no new motherboard...when now that ive learned more about computers..i could've fixed them in 10 mins lol....i hope the repair dude doesnt reboot the laptop..or at least backup my files...on a CD or something.

I think you should let your parents turn on the Parental Controls until you know a little more about the Dangers of the Internet.

i know the dangers of the internet....this was the last virus ive had in about 4 years and the other viruses were from my little brother...(not the one that was in a head lock) because he downloaded anything ni his path...which is why we have parental controls on this computer and only my brother and myself know the password...thia was a virus which i really hate and im never going back to the site i got it from...i had to see i movie "chicken run" which i didnt see when i was a child. and it was too late to go to movie store and buy one and none of my friends had it..they all saw the movie when they were young. so they had no problem..i was the only one that didnt see the movie and my teacher actually advised that i go to the site and download the movie off there...which gave me the virus ='(

Anyway, I think these people might have been slightly unclear, since none of this has been working for you, so heres the idea, step by step.

Go to infected computer.
Turn off infected computer.
Turn on infected computer.
Rapidly tap f8 until a menu pops up about what you want to run.
Boot to USB Drive or CD depending on what you're using.
Profit!

Are you a moron? Its ESC, shows how much you know about computers. If he did boot it from USB, he could get a virus on that because its opening a port to allow information in and out, so the USB could get infected. Use a disk. Because Files can not alter a disk after its been written on, unless its a CD-RW. If its CD-R or DVD-R you are alright.

yeah im not going to bother anymore on fixing it...im going to send it to repair guy...and hopefully he/she wont be a tight as* and will keep my data on the laptop or at least burn it to a CD.

If you had that virus for a while, it was probably a worm, it ate all your files pretty much, so they are probably all gone and wiped your hard drive clean

but while i had the virus i could still use all of my files...
and if thats true (hopefully not) i dont wanna make island_assault_p2 and keyes assault's bsp again. =(

Worms go through your files slowly and disable things, which is what happened, these are just ideas, not definite.

and i hope that they stay as ideas...

Actually, on Dell computers, it is f8, but this isn't a dell computer, so it doesn't apply.

Dell is so over rated... Get Alienware :D

You could try superantispyware or Malwarebytes Anti-Malware if you have bugs.

U know how expensive alienware computers are?!
