Okay I've tried out a few of my problems and got a few of them to work before asking the modding community :) But I just have this one question? Or Maybe 2 ;)
1st When I click the button on hek+ to extract the tags a window pops up asking where to save it... by default it's the maps directory should I change this? Also should I save the tags under a specfic names .map or .txt? After that I click save and I get a pop up that says:
The folder does not exsit. Set this under Tools>Settings in the plugins>Tag converter settings panel to a folder that exsits. Whats this mean?
Also I recently got some already made custom weapons with the tags and everything and the info file says make a item collection for it etc etc? How do I go about putting this weapon in the game? THANKS FOR ANY HELP :)

Ok, I don't know why no one helped you yet, but I guess I will. First off all, the window popping up asking you to save a file only saves a txt file with all the tags you extracted. That is not necessary. Just uncheck "Save extracted tag list", and it will not bother you. Next, assuming you used Quick Install to install halo, click on the yellow gear thing, and click Use Registry. Then, the tags should go to the right place. Also, to make an item collection, open up Guerilla, File, New, Item Collection. There are three things you must do. One, is set the weapon. Just click the three dots, and browse to it. Then, set the second box to 100 (I forgot which it is). Leave the third box alone. Of course, I am acting from my memory, so someone correct me if I am wrong. Then, in Sapien, in Hierarchy view, go to Mission>Game Data>Netgame Equipment, and right click in the Game view to place. In the properties pane, browse to the netgame equipment tag you made. Enjoy! Post here if you have more questions

Thanks for your help Edited by DarkLord0912 on Jan 18, 2009 at 01:22 AM you dont open map files. you open scenario files. shortly: 1. open guerrila 2. create new item collection. should open a window inside guerilla. 3. on the top line, press add. the grey boxes should turn white. 4. in the weight, type 100 5. in item, press on the arrow and change to weapon, then press on the three dots (...) and select your weapons. 6. save, and exit guerilla. 7. open sapien and select the scenario you want to edit 8. in the window called hierarchy view, open game data and select net game equipment 9. in the window called game view, right click where you want to place the weapon. a fliped box with pointing arrows should show. 10. go to the window called properties window, then select the flipped box again (in game view). 11. in type 0 field, press the arrow and select all games. 12. in spawn time field, type the number of seconds you want it to respawn. 13. in item collection field, press the three dots and select the item collection you just made. 14. go up, to the menus, and open file. select save scenario as. 15. make a unique name to it (if you already know how to use these type of windows) and save. close sapien. 16. open guerilla, and open globals.globals. 17. go into weapon list, and press add. 18. press the arrow in the field under it, and select weapon. 19. press the three dots, and select your custom weapon. 20. save, compile, and enjoy.

The scenario file must be in the tags/levels folder. If it's on the desktop, it will give you that error. Try opening the tutorial file found in the folder tags/levels/test/tutorial

Tool things? Use tool++ if you think it's too confusing. Also, to open up the weapon, select the .weapon tag.

Step 1: Open Gurelia... Step 2: open what ever map scenerio, mines bllodgulch... Step3: Go to file new, another window popup... select new item collection... another window untitled- Item permutation.... Step 4: Click add 2 slots are below that option and in the item slot do I select weapon or leave it as item???? 2nd- when I select what type it is then the 3 dots next to it it takes me to my tags folder from the Im guesing I select the new weapon folder I have there... then it opens that folder {my new weapon folder} And thats were the weapons... bitmaps,Fp,shaders, effects, projectiles are and in that same folder theres single file types which are so named {weapon name).weapon, (weapon name).gbxmodel... Etc
My question is which one do I select?

I can't help if you don't tell me what you need help on. For your question, I've already answered it. Select the .weapon tag.

Well, open up the bloodgulch.scenario file. If you don't have it, rip it from the map. First try to add it as a .weapon file, by going into Hierarchy view, objects, items, weapons, and right click to place a "beacon". Then, select the type in the properties pane. If it fails, then delete the weapon, and post the last few lines of the file called debug.txt from the folder C:/Program Files/Microsoft Games/Halo Custom Edition . If it adds, then delete the .weapon tag, and in Hierarchy view, go to Game Data, netgame equipment, right click to place a "beacon", and then browse to the type in the properties pane. Once done, save, compile, and it should appear in the map named after your scenario file. Do not save changes on the original Bloodgulch, as this will override your old one. Instead, rename the scenario file to something else, eg bloodgulchmod, and at the bottom of your maps list, there will be one called bloodgulchmod.

My question is which one do I select? item slot? you mean the one with the arrow near it? if yes, then weapon. it tells guerilla to load a weapon tag. as for second question, select a .weapon tag.

To create a new item collection, go to the top buttons, click file, new, and browse to item collection. Then, fill in the three boxes. Two of them you should fill in with numbers. Actually, to make life easier on you, open up the tag called assault rifle.item_collection in the folder tags/item collections/single weapons . Then, modify it for your weapon, and SAVE AS something else. That should work for you. And you have to pick the .weapon tag.

Elaborate. What problem? When does it occur? Most importantly, what file are you starting up?
