On a map I am working on my White Gruntos were being killed way to fast, so I decided to give them a bit more strenght. For some reason, when I doubled their body vitality (initially 45), it has no apparent impact on their staying power. I then increased the shield setting from the default 0 up to say 25, and now they became absolutely impossible to kill with anything. A C4 charge will blow them a km away, but it just makes them hopping mad! If I then go and reduce the shield setting down to 5, they still remain "Supergrunts".
I have also gone and tweaked the collision model max body vitality to match that of the actor variant tag to no avail, and have even bumped the vitality up to 450 and the shield down to 0, but now they are killed easily with one sniper bullet. Does anyone have a clue as to what might be causing this problem?

I think I have gotten a handle on the problem. I opened the elite major collision damage next to grunt's and started comparing settings. I noticed some issues with body and shield damage multipliers being set to 0 on the grunts. There may be another issue with the checks for the flags at the top flags concerning taking shield and body damage for children.

actually, the main problem is the damage multiplier. flags at top dosent matter.

What are the correct settings for a grunt CD for head, body and armor to give it an elite shield?

The reason that that Grunt is a supergrunt is because when you gave them shields, the material you set in the collision model for their shielding doesn't take any damage from any of your weapons (usually dirt, rock, rubber, force fields, etc.). Set it to something that does take damage from weapons. Edited by drillinstructor on Jan 2, 2009 at 08:08 PM

shield vitality, shield material type, stun and recharge time, shield depleted effect, then in materials set shield damage multiplier for the head, body, and armor.

Yes, as anything that is multiplied by zero is zero.

My point is that after setting the grunt with a shield, and not modifying these 0 multipliers, no matter how many shots I took at the beast it would not die!

When I did that, I could kill those grunts. The only problem was that they were invincible to sniper rifle shots (flood-like?)

Stronger as in "it takes all of my ammo, a few whacks upside the head, and a direct hit with a nuclear missile to kill", or stronger as in "they're actually a match for me now"?
